The taste of the wound
The taste of the wound

There is a sweetness that seduces.
And another that reveals.
Grapes gather in abundance — full, luminous, almost generous.
Beside them, a fig opens. Not delicately.
It breaks.
Its flesh exposed.
Its interior speaking.
Painted in oil with palette knife and thick impasto, the surface breathes texture and tension. The fruit is not innocent. It holds memory. It holds body. It holds something that once was whole.
This work explores the fragile line between nourishment and desire.
Between beauty and vulnerability.
Between what we taste… and what tastes us back.
Part of an ongoing investigation into emotional territories —
spaces that feel fertile, intimate, alive —
yet carry the quiet echo of something deeper.
This is not a still life.
It is intimacy made visible.
